What was your symptoms after a failed IUI?

My husband has severe male factor infertility and we've chosen to do sperm-bank donor IUI. I've heard from my RE Doctor that it takes a few tries sometimes to get pregnant rather you have fertility issues or not. We've had failed cycles and each time I swore I was pregnant. I know the HCG shot mimics pregnancy symptoms but it's supposed to be out of the system after 10 days. But, I feel cramping and funny feelings all the way to the start of menses. Feelings I don't have 'naturally'. We're doing back-to-back cycles and each one has had the same twinges and cramps all the way to menses. So, have any of you ladies had issues like this or a story to share of a similar situation? We did femara rather than clomid and got 5 eggs and femara has been easier than clomid. But the HCG combined with feelings after ovulation seems to be the med full of side-effects. Hope this is all normal, not sure what to expect. Thanks
