Unable to open a MS-Word doent?

I have a MS-Word doent (.doc) which I saved yesterday. When I tried to open it today, I get the message " SELECT THE ENCODING THAT MAKES THE DOENT READABLE". I tried almost all the encoding options that were displayed but nothing seems to work. Some wired characters are displayed instead of the text I typed yesterday. Can someone please advice how to recover the contents of my original doent ?

I wanted to cross the street. I was all alone. It was day time, in a residential neighborhood. A black SUV came up the street. I waited to see if it would stop for me. It did, so I crossed. In the SUV was two guys, about early 20's. When I was right in the middle of the street, the driver revved the engine and the SUV started forward quickly about 2 feet, as if they were going to run me over. I jumped and froze out of fear. The guys looked at me and laughed. I crossed the street quickly, then I looked back at them angrily. I saw their license plate. They stopped and laughed at me. One of them said "hi" then they sped away, laughing. I was very mad at this. Drivers shouldn't scare pedestrians like that. Should I report something like that to the police or let it go? I'm not sure, but I did feel threatened and disrespected.

Yes, I do. It makes sense to use contractions and abbreviations when you have a limited keyboard or are being charged per word, but there is no excuse otherwise! I am a lecturer at an FE college, and some of my younger students even hand in course work written in txt speak!

I would switch to a non-alcohol fluoride mouthwash. like ACT. using a mouthwash with alcohol can dry the tissues out. If you use a manual toothbrush maybe think of buying a electric one like a Sonicare. Those are the best ones in my opinion. I have one and i love it. they are a little expensive but worth it. Try not to brush too hard if you think you do. make sure you have a soft toothbrush and when you brush your teeth at in the front make sure that you angle the toothbrush down towards the gums sorta at a 45degree angle if that makes sense or you can think angle the brush head towards the roots of the teeth. So when you brush the toothbrush bristles are not only on your teeth but are touching your gums as well because you need to brush your gums to keep them healthy but not too hard. See if that helps.

Beginning photography questions!?

It really depends on how comfortable you are with camera settings. If you are comfortable with camera setting such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed, DOF, etc. then I would actually suggest a nice used film camera. Don't believe that you need to buy new, because a new DSLR (even the entry models are very expensive) as lenses will set you back between 200-6,000 dollars. So if you are comfortable I'd go film due to the fact that you don't get a crop factor as you do with a DSLR image sensor like Nikon's DX CMOS image sensor. If you are going to primarily be doing nature photography and portraits on a budget you will most likely be looking for one or two good lenses. And you can make the most of wide angle lenses with a film camera (look at an old Minolta X700 they are great and almost indestructible they were also voted the best camera of its time) because with a DX sensor you get a 1.5x crop factor of every image regardless of the lens this means you'll get the same view with a 50mm on a DSLR DX sensor camera as you would with a 75mm lens on a film camera. You can get "full frame" cameras such as the Nikon D3 which has an FX sensor but the body alone will cost you $5,500 or more. If you are interested in getting better check out Scott Kelby's digital photography books. No, it wasn't a psychotic break, which is a loss of contact with reality and a nervous breakdown is where you loose the ability to function in day to day life.I think it was an anxiety attack.It can cause rapid breathing and shortness of breath., racing heart and chest pain, sweating, a choking feeling,shaking and a feeling like you are loosing control. You are dealing with a lot of issues and I think this episode started as you were crying and worrying about your leg. Anxiety and depression are 2 sides of the same coin .The depression was causing the crying and the anxiety caused the panic attack.

Feeling kinda low? Anyone else with a similar experience?

I'm 24 & I finished university a few months back and have since been finding it difficult to find a full-time job in an area that interests me. I do work and have been trying hard to get something else but so far its been a no. I've always been a person who feels pretty low at times but have never gotten help for it,I never thought it was serious enough. I tried a few times (confiding in friends) but got sick of being told to pull myself together and that I shouldnt be depressed as I've never had any major life trauma, etc etc.. I've been a casual drug user for a while (literally just fooling around with stuff with friends during uni, like you do) though recently I've started using during the day on my own and getting high, sometimes before lunchtime, because it stops me feeling grim and gives me something to look forward to. I will even use a little something if I'm working that day to get me out of bed in the morning. I just feel reaaaaaaally impossibly low. It's like, you look out of the window and everythings so grey and your life feels like it has no meaning. I still see friends, please dont think I'm some stupid moron, I'm not, I left uni with good grades and I really really want to be normal with a good outlook on life. Some days I feel like I might be suicidal, some days I feel numb, most of the time I feel trapped and like I might go insane. I'm honestly not trying to be all dramatic and feel sorry for myself here, I apologise if it comes across as that, because I hate lifes whiners myself and technically I don't have much to be depressed about, I just am. Its frustrating. So my question is, does anyone else out there feel like this? What did you do to get help and how did you overcome it? & if anyone could provide any resources or support details that would be GREAT. Oh, & please dont just tell me to give up drugs, it's not as easy as that, use of them came about as a result of feeling low and not feeling I could admit it, not the other way round. I always wanted a lot of kids, but my first born is a little flaky, then my second born is moderately autistic. He is very belligerent and very hard to manage, and basically makes all those moments that are supposed to be special our own version of hell. After we learned he was autistic, I got a vasectomy, because neither of us could take having more autism in our lives, and doctors say that after you have one, the chances are much higher of having another autistic child. i think if you look back to before we started interfering with dogs by breeding etc. that dogs probably had a long life, but due to our 'making' breeds such as German Shepherds which have hip joint problems due to breeding, and also King Charles Spaniels which can have heart defects. i think dogs would be ok if we hadn't interfered with them. so overall i agree to an extent, but also think humans have had a lot to answer for regarding dogs. i'm saying this as a German Shepherd owner, who has always been told that my dog will get hip dysplasia when he's about 10 year old or younger. i hope this doesn't happen but it's what has happened due to interfering with breeding.

That is an interesting question, and I didn't know the gap had narrowed this way. Women used to live longer (if they didn't die in childbirth) depending on wealth, health, and other life and cultural resources. It would seem that men are healthier and are not working jobs that are as dangerous as those they would have had in the past. Thus, extending a male's life. I love the ambercrombie jeans, and stripes look nice and seem to be in style right now. Don't go for the maternity look (where the shirt is tight at the and then puckers out) please--I see girls wearing it all the time and it looks like they're chubby. Also, dont' buy the shirts that have their logos printed all over them--that seems tacky to me that businesses do that. My BBT on day 1 of period was 97.97. Day 2 dropped to 97.87. Day 2 and 3 was heavy. Day 4 it stopped. I usually spot for a day or two. Day 4 my BBT was 97.94. Day 5 97.92. On day 4 I noticed some cm. It seemed like it might be EWCM. On day 5 I checked my cervex and it is soft and midway. In the 11 months I have been tracking my cycles it has always been firm rigtht after my period. Drug induced tonic-clonic seizures?

Recently a friend of mine had an abrupt and violent seizure. I was petrified during it and thought that he was going to die because I could not tell the difference- he had lost all of his color and seemed to almost stop breathing after spitting up white fluids which is what happened when my father died of lung cancer- so I literally thought he had died. But I called the neighbor because I was definitely not thinking clearly and panicking and wanting someone to come in and to tell me what to do- thankfully my friend woke up completely confused, disorientated and sick. I stayed with him all night to be sure he was okay, and did research to find out that it was clified as a tonic-clonic seizure (I read each kind and this one had literally all the symptoms- eyes rolling back, violenty shaking, muscles contracting etc. etc.) I know my friend sometimes takes drugs- vicodin or marijuana and I was wondering if this could have caused the seizure? I've never seen anything like that before and was hoping you could tell me- he doesn't have a past history, doesn't have epilepsy and the neighbor (his good friend) said he was caused by not getting enough sleep and dehydration but I'm not buying it. My husband has severe male factor infertility and we've chosen to do sperm-bank donor IUI. I've heard from my RE Doctor that it takes a few tries sometimes to get pregnant rather you have fertility issues or not. We've had failed cycles and each time I swore I was pregnant. I know the HCG shot mimics pregnancy symptoms but it's supposed to be out of the system after 10 days. But, I feel cramping and funny feelings all the way to the start of menses. Feelings I don't have 'naturally'. We're doing back-to-back cycles and each one has had the same twinges and cramps all the way to menses. So, have any of you ladies had issues like this or a story to share of a similar situation? We did femara rather than clomid and got 5 eggs and femara has been easier than clomid. I would say put on some chap-stick first (I always do this so my lips don't look dry when I put on lipstick) then apply a raspberry colored lipstick on top, let it dry for a little bit. After that apply some gold lipstick (if you cannot find gold lipstick a gold eyeshadow stick will work fine) only to the middle of your lips, then let that sit for a second. What's wrong with my fish tank filter?

I have a 5 gallon fish tank, and a little filter that came with it (it was a goldfish starter kit, and came with it). It is the type of filter that stays fully submerged on the inside of the tank wall, and has a little tube right above the part that floods out the water. The tube has a little bulb on the end which is to stay out of the water so that it can suck air in to pump into the tank also. There is also a little green lever on the side to control how much water can be filtered through, the power of it. For some reason, after I cleaned the tank and filter today, the little tube is filling with water and its dripping out of the bulb. I can't seem to find anything that would put it in reverse like that, that I may have accidentally switched or bumped while cleaning it. Any ideas or answers on how to fix it?

My cousin used to have a hedgehog and carried it around in something like the second link the person posted before. If you go on ebay and search Sugar Glider, pouches that look just like that link are for sale and cheeper. Many people make them for gliders and usually call it a condo or double condo bonding pouch i believe. I don't know much about hedgehogs (i'm a sugar glider person), but are hedgehogs used to being around a person and not like a habitat for that length of time? I mean sugar gliders dont have a problem with it because they are nocturnal and sleep during the day and its a normal bonding process. Anyways, i would do a test run with your hedgehog on a weekend to see if its ok with being on you for that length of time, because it would really suck if you were at school and it started getting frustrated. Can a prosecutor offer a plea deal even though the victim family is against it?

Yes. They are supposed to get the victims approval but they never do so they can just close the case out. I was a victim and I was told that they were going to see about a deal. They told me that I'd have to approve to the deal before anything. The DA then didn't send me notices of the hearings. They left him off with 1 year probation. I raised questions after and they said that it was up to the DA and not me. They said that it's just a courtesy to ask the victim not the law. Sorry!

I have known this guy for 16 years been bestfriends with him for a while now,. she used a regular olive oil perm around the edges,(front, back and sides) and a just for me kiddie perm in the middle. after she did the edges it started burning unbearably so i made her wash it out. the burning didn't completely go away. she put kiddie perm on the part that was burning and it felt on fire so i made her wash my hole head out. Making Your Own Mayonnaise - oils to use?

I made the switch from Miracle Whip to mayonnaise about 6 months ago as I suddenly lost my taste for sweet. I've also discovered that I could make mayonnaise myself using my blender wand, a cup at a time. Are there preferred oils for making this? Also, what is the typical refrigerator life before you should throw it and make more? What sort of additives, besides mustard and chives, makes a good mayo? So the first thing that you need to know is I've been struggling with my eating disorder (bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa, alternatively) for the past 3 years now. I completed treatment a few months ago and am now left completely to my own devices as far as recovery goes. My mother, a woman who struggles with morbid obesity and possibly her own eating issues (according to my own observations, and confirmed by our family therapist) tends to eat late (9pm to 12am). This is something she has always complained about because she hates falling asleep on the couch/gaining weight. The reason I try to eat dinner with her is because 1) I like the feeling of eating as a "family" 2) there is more accountability if I'm eating with another person. Anyway, I made a comment to her once about putting the food in the oven so that we can eat because it was already 9:00. She said she would do it and it would be ready by the time I come back from the store. A half hour later she still hadn't put the food in the oven. So I mentioned it again and she let lose on me. She screamed at me, told me to shut the hell up because I was annoying the **** out of her. I was so upset, because all I did was make a suggestion, but apparently since I had the audacity to say it TWICE it was grounds for a tirade. I got upset and totally lost my appetite. I've been really depressed lately and have barely been eating, so this is nothing new. It got worse when she said "Oh yeah, you'll use any old excuse not to eat." That really hurt me. At one point I tried to sit her down and talk it out. I told her I wanted to try something new instead of restricting, cutting, stomping out, or being depressed. All she did was continue to yell. Then when I left to go to the store she got on the phone and starting mocking me to her friend, saying that I was weak and using my eating disorder to try to manipulate her. Granted, I shouldn't have asked her about it so many times and maybe shouldn't have brought up all the stuff about what I used to do. Am I just too sensitive? How can I change?

My cat keeps puting one kitten out?

There could be something wrong with the kitten. Mothers can sometimes sense the weakest of the litter or something wrong with one in the litter and she will abandon that one. If she continues this and won't nurse I would suggest calling the vet to have the kitten examined. My cat Angel did this with one of her kittens. I kept finding it at the corner of the box without the others and I would put it with them and it seemed it could not nurse. I tried to bottle feed it and didn't seem to have much luck. I was going to take it to the vet but sadly it died that night. Don't delay.
